Iraqi TV Show helping Iraqi Govt.
Who would have thought that Iraq would have a Television show that would actually end up ‘helping’ the new Iraqi Govt.
In a new ‘Reality’ TV show that is roughly translated as “Terrorism and the Hand of Justice,” airs in Iraq @ 9:00, Iraqi citizens get to watch insurgents being interviewed by an off screen interviewer. Problem for these terrorists is, it’s not helping their cause, mainly because the interviews are showing the locals what they’re ACTUALLY fighting for. Iraqi’s thought that the insurgents were fighting against America for a better Iraq, but the program soon revealed that they’re killing people not for the freedom, but only for the money.
The program reveals that insurgents get paid about $200 for setting a roadside bomb, $200 to $500 for a car bomb and as much as $5,000 for detonating a car bomb near a mosque. It’s not about the ‘religious’ aspect and it’s making a LOT of people upset.

So you get your facts from a reality television show, now? I don’t trust any broadcasting, much less commercial broadcasting. It’s all paid-for itself. The network was paid to produce a television show that expressed that perspective.
I won’t argue with you that the terrorists aren’t wrong or that they aren’t fighting for money. I’m not there and I can’t say either way, nor do I care. But in my experience the media has shown nothing but lies and half-truths, and reality television is the epitome of ridiculousness.

Wow, now you’re just putting words in my mouth.
Not ONCE did I say that I felt that it was the absolute truth. I got THIS information from a media source not from the actual show. Reality shows ARE pretty silly and they ARE paid for, I was just saying that I thought it was great that almost the ENTIRE country is watching and listening to this show so it’s putting a HUGE dent in the effectivness of the attacks.

I realize the first sentence might seem like I was accusing you of spreading misinformation, but it was meant to be taken in jest. I apologize.

Sounds like the kind of show Iraq needs. God bless whoever came up with it!

This doesn’t suprise me. Those of us on the left have been screaming that religion is just a front for money for years, be it here or there.

I love the way that some folks take it upon themselves to speak for people of faith. Oh, is my faith just a front for money? Really? I got saved so that I could be rich? Funny, I don’t recall you being there when all that went down. I don’t see a lot of Christians rolling around in their Rolls Royces. I also don’t see a lot of Christians (or Jews for that matter) deciding that everything they believe and everything they hold in their hearts to be true is just a way to make money. And you want to know why the Left keeps losing elections in America, and increasingly, around the world? There’s your answer right there. And by the way, the mainstream (and liberal) churches are losing members faster than you can eat Cheetos, so the ‘organized religion’ isn’t getting any richer. I never cease to be amazed by the unparalleled ignorance of leftists about virtually everything, but especially when it comes to religious matters. Guys, if you don’t know something don’t try to convince people that you do — there are people out there who know the subject matter! *bonk*
