Raskin Dies…

Jef Raskin, considered by many to be the father of the Macintosh, died today at the age of 61 of pancreatic cancer. Jef joined Apple in 1978 as its 31st employee, and over the next four years, developed the idea of the Macintosh. He envisioned the first affordable personal computer with a graphical user interface. He named the Macintosh after his favorite fruit. During this time, Raskin created such interface concepts as the “click and drag”.
