Memorial Day

Monday marks the coming of yet another Memorial Day… probably the most overlooked, under appreciated holiday all year. When you ask the average Joe on the street what Memorial Day means to them, you usually get “A day off work!”.

While I do appreciate the day off of work, we as a nation need to take more time to thank those who are serving our country in the military and those families who have lost loved ones in service.

It seems today, that the media, schools, and most of the masses, don’t remember or don’t care to acknowledge the REAL reason we live like we do. If it weren’t for our military, you wouldn’t be free to do almost everything you do on a daily basis.

Monday, please gather with your families, and celebrate with a walk in a national park,, memorial, or even just a picnic. Celebrate your freedoms and thank a member of our armed forces, or thank a family with a loved one lost for their sacrifice so that you can be free.
