With the recent ruling by the Supreme Court of the United States would allow for any Government to declare imminent domain on any private property as long as it is used to develop greater tax revenue for that city or state than it would under the current ownership.
Well in a hilarious twist of fate against Supreme Court Justice David H. Souter (who voted for the ruling on imminent domain), his home is now the target of his own sick judgment. On Monday June 27, Logan Darrow Clements, put in a request with the code enforcement officer of the Town of Weare, New Hampshire for authorization to begin the application process to build a hotel at 34 Cilley Hill Road, the current home address of one Mr. David H. Souter. The main driving factor of this of course is that the city of Weare would gain far more tax revenue from a hotel than it would from Mr. Souter squatting in his current place of residence.
The proposed development, called “The Lost Liberty Hotel” will feature the “Just Desserts Cafe” and include a museum, open to the public, featuring a permanent exhibit on the loss of freedom in America. Instead of a Gideon’s Bible each guest will receive a free copy of Ayn Rand’s novel “Atlas Shrugged.”
If I was the the code enforcement officer for this city, this would go to the top of the pile. You reap what you sow and personally, I hope to high heaven this gets pushed through and Justice Souter loses his home and is forced out onto the streets.
