Ok, so unless you’ve been living under a very large rock for the past week, you’d know that a very large hurricane (also known as NATURAL storm activity) hit the gulf coast of the US.
We have rescue parties pushing aside or all out ignoring dead bodies to save the living, and what do the extreme left in this country do? No, they don’t set aside politics to help save those in trouble, that wouldn’t be right… there has to be someone to BLAME for all of this.
Robert F Kennedy Jr. has taken it upon himself to point a shrewd finger at the Governor of Mississippi, Haley Barbour. According to RFK, Barbour pushed the Bush administration to not sign the Kyoto treaty and as a result, global warming caused this thing called a ‘Hurricane’ to strike the gulf coast. He even went as far as to say that the hurricane blasted Mississippi, because it was getting even with Barbour.
In 1998, Republican icon Pat Robertson warned that hurricanes were likely to hit communities that offended God. Perhaps it was Barbour’s memo that caused Katrina, at the last moment, to spare New Orleans and save its worst flailings for the Mississippi coast.
That’s right, the Governor of Mississippi doesn’t believe in the Kyoto treaty (as does anyone with half a brain) so Mother Nature decided to pay him a visit…. riiiiiiight.
Despite what most people think, global warming has very little to do with storm activity on our oceans. The severity of hurricane seasons changes with cycles of temperatures of several decades in the Atlantic Ocean.
“The recent onslaught is very much natural” according to William M. Gray, a professor of atmospheric science at Colorado State University.
According to Kerry A. Emanuel, a hurricane expert at the MIT “…global warming might have already had some effect. The total power dissipated by tropical cyclones in the North Atlantic and North Pacific increased 70 to 80 percent in the last 30 years…What we see in the Atlantic is mostly the natural swing.”
