I am a big Evan Bayh supporter and I was disappointed he voted no. And Reid’s arguments for voting no were completely foundless. I think a lot of pressure was put on Democrats by groups that they rely upon for funding and support.

I think Feingold and his demand for immediate withdrawal from Iraq is a threat to the Democratic party’s pursuit back into power, hence I don’t like him much on my blog, but I really do admire his objectivity in assessing Roberts, who was obviously qualified, had virtually nothing against him, and whose decision to be less than forthcoming didn’t really relate to his nomination, but the process.
