Dean’s spending not earning
Well it seems that The DNC’s hallowed internet fundraising wizard, Howard dean, isn’t near as special as they would have hoped when it comes to their pocket books.
Senate and House Minority Leaders Harry Reid, Nancy Pelosi, along with the Senate and House campaign committee chairmen Charles Schumer (N.Y.) and Rahm Emanuel (Ill.) have all voiced their displeasure over the remaining balance in the pockets of the DNC. New fundraising numbers show that Dean has spent nearly ALL their cash, leaving them with only $5.5 million vs. the GOP’s $34 million, leaving them very little to support their efforts to gain seats in the coming election.
It should be interesting to see how he can replenish the “supply” in time, while facing the displeasure over his ‘efforts’ as DNC chairman.

I donated what I could to Dean in the primaries. I voted for him in the primaries. As someone who quickly wrote more than one check for him in the 2004 election cycle, I can tell you why I haven’t been writing the DNC any checks.
They would waste it. What would they do? Sponsor a TV add with the same tired old non-sense? Maybe show a soccer mom loading her kids into a minivan, droning on about Jack Abramoff? I look at my voter registration card, right now, and it says Democrat. But where is my party? On their blog: http://www.democrats.org/blog.html — a lot of talk about Abramoff, but nothing (NOTHING) about Alito, socialized healthcare, the pending energy crises and India and China compete with use for quickly vanishing supplies of oil!
Corruption in Congress is important, but a more compelling question is what do we do about our way of life that depends on a vanishing commodity — oil? Extraction of oil from the Canadian tar sands for the shale in the western US not only won’t replace the soon-dwindling Saudi supply, but its extraction requires the combustion of natural gas, which itself is in short supply and causes even more global warming than traditional oil extraction and use.
This is why the liberals do so well in Sweden, a country that has 100% subdizied for college tuition, a robust welfare state, near-zero poverty, and a strong economy. Their country is planning to be the first off of fossil fuel by 2020.[1] Where are we on this? Oh, we aren’t, we’re droning on about Bushie’s low approval ratings. Way to go, DNC!

Same for me with the Republicans… I was a “sure I’ll vote for you” Republican until a few years ago. I looked at what they were pushing as their “beliefs” and they didn’t seem to match me like they had years before… so I did a little searching and locally, fit in with the Libertarians here… re-registered as Independant (can’t register as anything BUT IND / REP / DEM here).
