Britain gets it… We don’t.

The UK has foiled a large terror plot to blow up airplanes headed to America… in the US our response was to make our airports more inefficient than they already are, by blocking every single human being from boarding a plane until they pass rigorous security checkpoints and throw away hundreds of thousands of dollars in goods, because we’re being “safe”. Yet in the UK, they’re doing what they SHOULD be doing… identifying the threat, and dealing with it.

A Hispanic individual robs a bank and escapes on foot. Do you block off all streets in a 5 mile radius and check every mom, dad, child and grandma for the stolen money or do you go after the Hispanic male that robbed the bank?

A woman is carjacked by a black man on a freeway. Do you create a roadblock a mile ahead and frisk any driver that approaches? No, you go after any black male driving a car matching the vehicles description.

A threat appears against the citizens of your country in the form of men, in the age range of 17-35, of Muslim religious backgrounds. These individuals show a preference to airplanes and bombs. Do you block off ALL boarding and clog lines and increase tension in the already tense environment of an airport or do you look for Muslim men, aged 17-35 who are acting suspicious.

Not all Muslims are terrorists, but in the very recent history of the UK and the US, our terrorists have been Muslim. Identify the problem and remove it. This is not religious intolerance, it’s not bigotry, it’s common sense.
