It’s Democracy working — a party actually nominates a candidate they can agree with. Unusual? Perhaps. UnAmerican? I hope not.

Four weeks ago, Lamont was down by 20 points. Today it’s less than 10. This is a deeply blue state, and there’s a lot of anger over Bush and Lieberman. All Lamont needs to do is present himself as something more than anti-war and he’ll win.

Anyone taking bets?

Lieberman doesn’t “hate Bush” and because of this a LOT of the “angry liberals” (see my other comments in my last Lieberman topic) dismiss him as some sort of traitor.

@Joel: What does having high approval ratings have anything do with defeating your enemies? Nothing at all, I’m afraid. Since when was the war idiotic and unjustifiable? Iraq has been identified as a state sponsor of terror since 1990, hardly unjustifiable to topple a dictatorship and a terrorist regime and replace it with a democracy (by the way, are you familiar with the Kurds? no, I thought not. Because saddam slaughtered em).

Lamont is extremist because… Anyone who does not agree 100% with the Democratic party nowadays is thrown under the bus, overboard, whatever term you want to use. Lieberman votes democratic 90% of the time, and yet because he is strong on national security his name is smeared on the floor and he is subjected to some of the worst slander one can imagine.
