Creationism *Science*

Now, I agree that Evolution is JUST a theory… but that’s all I’ll agree with on the Creationist side of the argument. I agree that at the start of the teaching of Evolution is should be stated that it is a Theory, just like the theory of relativity etc.

Creationism is not Science.

I’ve heard numerous “facts” about how the earth was created and how certain elements on this planet came to be and to me, it sounds like Creationists are more like Hyperspeed Scientists.

At one point in the show, the legal side of the Creationism debate states that the Grand Canyon was cut from the earth within a matter of DAYS as a result of “a great release of water”. (read: 40 days and 40 nights…)

Creationism, if it IS to be taught in the classroom, does NOT belong with Science. Creationism belongs with theology, and because of our “promise to the people” to keep the government out of religious matters, theology has NO place in Public Schools.

  • Public schools, no. But if public schools weren’t such an oppresive monopoly, none of this would even be an issue. Parents would be able to send their kids to private schools (or public schools) that could *compete* and teach creationism or evolution or even the Great Green Arkleseizure or all of the above or none of the above.

Is there even a single theology class in public schools? I remember Judaism, Christianity, and Islam being covered in 2 weeks in a history class. TWO WEEKS for 3 of the most important shaping philophies of the world.

  • We never covered religious materials in high school outside of naming the major religion of each country. We never delved into the semantics.

  • I think the creationists are right. But the Creator is the Flying Speghetti Monster, not Jesus. May you be touched by His Noodly Appendage.
