Being independant has its downsides…
About 4 months after the re-election of President Bush, I decided that the leadership of the Republican party had left me in the dust so I un-registered myself with the Republican Party and filed to be listed as a Libertarian. Oddly enough, the Libertarian Party is a recognized party by my state, but they don’t accept voters registrations for that party so I am a registered Independent.
As such I have noticed that not only did my mailings from the Republicans not slow down, but I have noticed that I am now getting just as much junk mail from the Democrats.
I received this in the mail yesterday and it made me laugh.

OK, the problem I have with BOTH republicans and democraps is that once they each get to congress, they change parties, and join the INCUMBENT party, both thinking alike-how do I get re-elected??? BUT practically, I’d rather have republican incumbents than democrap incumbents in power.

Don’t open the envelopes. Right in magic mark “refused – remove from list” and put them back on the mailbox. That’s probably first-class mail, so it’ll go back to its sender.

That’s one good thing about being a libertian: The Libertarian Party doesn’t have enough money to send out a lot of mail.

This was a flyer… usually I don’t open sealed political material unless it’s a reply from my congressmen.
