Was it REALLY that necessary?

Media, Technology

I’m sure by now we have all heard of the LED plaques depicting ERR the Moninite from Aqua Teen Hunger Force that were found hanging all over Boston and literally brought the city to a terror filled stand still.

I’ve read story after story about how terrified people were when they saw these “wire filled boxes” hanging in precarious location and I just DON’T get it.

I could understand my grandmother wonder what that silly looking character is all about, but I don’t see her bolting off to call the bomb squad over it.

I do agree that the individuals involved should have notified authorities of their intentions ahead of time but the intensity of the reaction from a pile of LED’s and some electrical tape was outrageous.

I know we’ve been walking on eggshells since 9/11 but COME ON… if a terrorist wanted to blow up a bridge, they wouldn’t bother with a fancy 2D LED layout, they’d just blow it up.

Wonder how many people witnessed some of them being put up and/or questioned the people doing so. I’m betting very low numbers to the first, and 0 to the second.

If they had been terrorists putting up bombs, Boston would be mostly gone right now.

That was my point… visit YouTube and you can see VIDEO FOOTAGE of them laying out the signs at night.

There aren’t that many people out, but if their intention was destructive they wouldn’t have gone to all the trouble to make them all blinky.
