The point of the list? How about, PROPER care of our borders could have saved some 30 or MORE Children from the devastation and torture of sexual assault in the past 30 days.

While I’m with you in the whole “closed borders” thing (though I think we differ with what to do with the ones already here), this is ridiculous, like trying to make an argument over closing the borders because some kid somewhere was hit by a drunk driver who happened to be an illegal immigrant. You’re using one issue to argue for a completely different — and really, unrelated — matter.
You’re equating child molester to illegal immigrant, and verges on a strawman argument. “These illegals immigrants are molesters, therefore we have to close the borders and kick out all the illegal immigrats because they might be molesters. Afterall” you add, “if illegal immigrants weren’t here, these kids would have been kept safe, right?” This is right up there with me saying “most of the crime in inner cities of large metropolitan areas is done by blacks, therefore we have a black problem in America. Getting rid of all the blacks would solve our crime problem.” I mean, you have to admit that if LaMont Brownskin rapes Jenny Whitegirl, then getting rid of all the blacks would have prevented Jenny from being raped, right?
Sorry, but this is AT BEST a non sequitur argument.
The only problem is that we are not seeing the statistics of how many total incidents of child molestation occurred in this county during the same 30 day period. I mean, it looks bad when you list all those incidents of illegal aliens molesting children, but how many American citizens did that in the same period. I don’t have any idea what the ratio is, but I think these numbers are useless without the other data. It doesn’t prove that illegal immigrants are more likely to molest children than any other group if the rest of the numbers aren’t included. I do, however, support a closed border.

That’s just as ridiculous as stating that ALL Muslims are terrorists because as of late, all the terrorists have been Muslim.
The way I see this whole invasion issue is this. The US is my home, and right now the front door has been left WIDE open. People are coming in, taking full advantage of the residents in my home, and causing a lot of harm and damaging my home. How do I fix this? I SHUT AND LOCK the front door.

I know that you’re not just as well as you know you’re not. I understand full well that you’re talking about policy, not people. That’s fine. That’s not the issue. Your argument could EASILY be construed as blaming a segment of the population for something a very few had done, because you argue that if this segment of the population wasn’t here, this wouldn’t have happened. Putting it this way creates that link in the mind of the reader. (Were I just a passerby, and had we NOT held many conversations in the past I’m very likely to think that from you, based on this.) THAT is the issue.
(There’s a clip on YouTube of an argument between Bill O’Reilly and Geraldo Reivera in which O’Reilly is arguing the same issue as you (illegal immigrants), using the same tactic as you, using one onerous crime as a platform to seemingly demonize and entire group (”look, this crime could have been prevented if we just closed the border”). If you were to say instead that “Illegal aliens did X, Y, and Z crimes which accounts for X percent of the total crime rate in X, Y, and Z sectors, showing that having them here increases the overall rate of crime” then you’d have a solid argument.
As it stands, simply saying “Look, these crimes happened therefore we need to stop illegal immigration” makes for a non sequitur argument, and to a certain extent a strawman argument (”These are illegals who molested kids. Nobody here supports molesting kids. Therefore, let’s get rid of the illegals”).
Hmm… so are you saying that we need to make sure that we document everyone in the country, that we shouldn’t let noncitizens into the country, that all illegal immigrants are [charged with being] child molesters, or something else?
I honestly don’t understand what point this list makes (aside from the unsettling nature of sexual crimes against minors).
