Mitt takes a sit…

In an obvious move to some, and a shocker to others, Mitt Romney has decided to bow out on his bid for the White House.

“If I fight on in my campaign, all the way to the convention, I would forestall the launch of a national campaign and make it more likely that Senator Clinton or Obama would win. And in this time of war, I simply cannot let my campaign, be a part of aiding a surrender to terror.”

More power to ya Mitt… no sense in wasting billions of dollars when the numbers are already stacked against you. With Huckabee running a distant 3rd to McCain, and letting it be known that his support would fall to McCain it’s pretty obvious that McCain is the golden child this round (I still don’t see WHY).

I do have to say that I was gunning for Romney to take the wind out of McCain’s sails down the road towards the convention but too late now! I guess one could hope that Romney can back Huckabee and give him some steam.

I have to agree that pushing us towards a brokered convention would basically seal the deal for the Democrats as we would be divided so close to the end.

  • Chances that anyone in any major right-wing media outlet actually says “You know, between McCain, Huckabee, and Paul, I’m going to go with Paul”?

    0.

    *grr*

  • It blew me away when they were running down Super Tuesday GOP news and had the charts up…

Couric was running down the list and said “We have McCain in the lead with __ delegates, Romney and Huckabee coming up behind him… and that’s all I can think of…” while waving her hand @ Ron Paul’s picture and standing in front of it.

I find it amazing how much people wish he would just fall off the earth. God forbid we have a politician who says what he thinks, not what he think will make him popular.

It also doesn’t help when he doesn’t get as much media coverage and isn’t included in most polls. I think if the two parties were disbanded, people would be more likely to research the candidates’ views on the issues; although I suppose the media could still skew things.
