Rachael Ray is a terrrorist!!

At least that’s what people like Michelle Malkin is freaking out about after the appearance of an online Dunkin Donuts advertisement.

The ad featured Ray shouldering her purse and carrying some iced coffee drink in the other in front of what looks like a park. The part that seems to be getting Malkin and companies panties in a wad is what is around her neck… a SCARF.

Malkin was complaining on her column that the scarf looked like a kaffiyeh and conjured up images of Muslim extremism and terrorism.

”The kaffiyeh, for the clueless, is the traditional scarf of Arab men that has come to symbolize murderous Palestinian jihad. Popularized by Yasser Arafat and a regular adornment of Muslim terrorists appearing in beheading and hostage-taking videos, the apparel has been mainstreamed by both ignorant (and not-so-ignorant) fashion designers, celebrities, and left-wing icons.”

My message to Malkin… IT’S A PAISLEY SCARF YOU MORON! Had she been wearing it turban style sporting a dozen sticks of C4 around her chest carrying the head of a US soldier I could understand the uproar but come on! This is on par with the lame “outrage” over the use of a 30 year old Starbucks logo that dared to bear the breasts of a mermaid.

Dunkin Donuts pulled the online ad to avoid any “misperception” but I steadfastly encourage them to slap that puppy back online… it’s not a bad advertisement at all.

  • From that snippet, Malkin sounds like a cross between the most ignorant and arrogant person on the planet, and a racist.

Taking a look at the books she’s written, I can confirm my original observation.

  • I don’t really understand why Malkin is doing this. Unless she just can’t stand Rachel Ray, which is perfectly reasonable.

  • I read about this. I was surprised that Dunkin Donuts actually cared about Michelle Malkin’s wild, albeit vivid, interpretation of a harmless scarf. Stupid.

  • I am disappointed that Dunkin Donuts caved to this stupidity
