According to my research he originally attended the University of Illinois, but left after poor academic performance and a desire to play QB for North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State College.

After graduating he DID go to the Chicago Theological Seminary... yet he never finished the coursework or graduated from CTS. He was later given an honorary degree from CTS.

Depending on the religious sect (Catholic, Baptist etc.) "reverend" can simply mean a leader, but in many uses it denotes a religious official with specific credentials and training.

It's a badge of rank to him... I choose not to give him the honor of that title as he does not deserve it.

I have noticed the omission of the title "Reverend" from Jesse Jackson's name. . . . Isn't he ordained?
