The Miss USA “scandal”
I’m not one to watch beauty pageants… I personally think they’re pointless and ridiculous, but hey… to some people they’re wonderful. In case you happened to not turn on the news this week, Celebrity Gossip blogger Perez Hilton asked the following question of Miss California.
“Vermont recently became the fourth state to legalize same sex marriage. Do you think every state should follow suit? Why or why not?”
To which, she gave the following response.
“Well I think it’s great that Americans are able to choose one or the other. Um, we live in a land that you can choose same sex marriage or opposite marriage and, you know what, in my country and in, in my family, I think that I believe that a marriage should be between a man and a woman. No offense to anybody out there. But that’s how I was raised and that’s how I think that it should be between a man and a woman.”
Apparently, since this answer did not fit the confines of Perez’ narrow views, he dubbed it “the worst answer in beauty pageant history” and even went so far as to call Miss Prejean a “Dumb Bitch”.
Now let me be the first to say that I COMPLETELY side with Miss Prejean on this one… she was slapped with a politically motivated question and she handled it wonderfully. I believe anyone that wishes to join in a union with another person should be allowed to, but she wrapped her personal opinion in the important clause of States Rights. She may not agree with same-sex unions (or marriages) but she did not come out and slap the audience with the usual rhetoric and put downs.
Mr. Hilton is a hot headed moron regardless and he knew very well that she had to answer the question so he essentially backed her into a corner.

I believe anybody that wants to get married whether it be a man and man, man or woman and woman and woman should be able to. Also I believe that everybody is entitled to their own opinion be it be it pro gay marriage or anti gay marriage. When Perez Hilton backed Ms. CA into a corner with that question and the called her a dumb bitch he made himself no better then the people who were protesting gay marriage in the CA elections. Besides the fact that he had no qualifications to be a judge in the Miss USA Pageant he cost Miss CA the title. It is stupid closed minded one way thinking people like him that keeps discrimination alive because as far as I am concerned he judged her on her beliefs and did discriminate against her. Miss CA handle the question with poise and grace and I applaud her for standing up for her beliefs.

Many activist on the left cannot stand to have their positions challenged. When they are faced with someone doing this they will invariably attempt to thrown whatever dirt they can come up with at that person. They speak toleracnce , but they have little of it themselves. Really two-faced, but expected. These people are violent, vuglar, and most are unamerican in that they blame this country for all the worlds problems without seeing the good this country has done over the years. We have to stand up to these modern day fascist or they will win the day.
