Why FL and MI should NOT be recounted.
For those of you who don’t know, this political season, despite repeated warnings NOT to do so… Florida and Michigan moved up their primary dates in an attempt to increase their importance early on. Democratic National Committee rules have set guidelines as to when a primary can and cannot be held and breaking those rules results in the stripping of your delegation from the national committee.
Florida, and Michigan BROKE those rules and were punished accordingly (by BOTH parties).
So now we have a close Democratic race with the only clear (and easy) way of winning being the reinstatement of the Florida and Michigan delegation (both won by Hillary Clinton mind you). Party officials in both states as well as voters, are voicing their disagreement with the lack of delegation and are demanding a re-vote or the reinstatement of the delegates from the original because “their vote should count”.
Your Democratic state officials screwed up… smash THEIR heads together. Plain and simple truth, you broke the rules, you get to live with the consequences. No where in our election system does it say you have the right to vote, or the right for your vote to count no matter what rules are violated.
If you went into an election and attempted to circumvent the rules as a voter that would be considered fraud and there are severe consequences for violating those rules. Why should things be any different at the state level?
Both Governors issued a statement about their opinion on the matter… a portion of that statement went a little something like this:
[1]The right to vote is at the very foundation of our democracy. This primary season, voters have turned out in record numbers to exercise that right, and [2]it is reprehensible that anyone would seek to silence the voices of 5,163,271 Americans. It is intolerable that the national political parties have denied the citizens of Michigan and Florida their votes and voices at their respective national conventions.
1) I will reiterate, it is not nor has it ever been the right of the people to vote in a federal election. Go look at the ORIGINAL Bill of Rights, and the Constitution… it’s NOT in there, never has been!
2) The one who silenced that vote was the Democratic Parties of Florida and Michigan. Not some evil government conspiracy, or Barack Obama, or Karl Rove or anyone. YOU broke the rules that were set up to govern the primary process on a national level.
Being that they’re politicians, they chose their words carefully. They know you’re stupid and they know that if you keep hounding on a lie, it will eventually become reality. You can lie to yourself enough and keep thinking you have some God given right to vote, or you can wake up.
Actions have consequences and the sooner the majority of this country realizes this, the sooner we can start getting back to the vision our founding fathers had for this country.

…and send the message to the rest of the State parties that they don’t have to follow the rules, just pitch a fit when you’re punished and you get a do over? I don’t think so.
They broke the rules, they have to suffer the consequences. If I violate a policy at my job that could lose me my job, I don’t get a redo if I throw a big enough fit.
I don’t care how boring things get, rules are rules.
No, but I’m against coddling the ignorant masses who think some higher power is out to squash their “right to vote”.
Get pissed off at your state party officials who ignored the warnings and moved the primary date anyway… THEY screwed up your vote.
I could care less if it’s boring, I’m not going to hold their hand and walk them in for a do-over. This isn’t 4th Grade Dodge Ball.
Off topic, but check it out: Ilana Mercer must have let her domain expire. I couldn’t get to her blog yesterday. This morning when I went to check on it I got some generic links page like happened to you the other day.
If her blog is back up when you read this, must mean she bought her domain thru someone like you did that wouldn’t allow someone else to snag it if it expired.

I disagree. They should allow a re-vote. Think of how fun it could be to see how crazy it gets!!
Otherwise, June may be incredibly boring.
